Esmena started to sell her curry powder when she could not find a job back in 1984. Being a single mother with her only daughter, Elizabeth, she needed money to send Elizabeth to school and since then Esmena has been selling her curry powder in her local community in Jamaica.

With over 30 years of experience, Esmena perfected the formula of her curry powder and with the passion and love she put into making this spice, everyone keeps coming back to purchase Esmen’s Curry Powder.

Family and friends were always giving compliments to the dishes made with Esmen’s Curry Powder. With these testimonies and with the help from Elizabeth, the child she was able to send to school from the profit of selling her curry powder, Esmena was able to formally market Esmen’s Curry Powder, so that others can now experience the delicious flavour that this special blend of spices will add to your curry dishes.

Elizabeth teamed up with her cousins, Jonoi and Chantha, who Esmena also helped to care for and together they formally launched the company, Esmen’s Curry Powder Inc., on December 1, 2020.
