You are an amazing person, don’t compromise or relax your values to suit someone else. When you try to fit in, you don’t get to see how amazing you are. When you make yourself easily accessible you are discounting your amazingness, all the wonderful and beautiful things that make you an amazing person. When someone values your worth and wants to be with you, he/she won’t ask you to devalue yourself as who you are is who they are attracted to. Instead, the person will work on creating a bond with you that will transform into a commitment to building the relationship.
At some point in your life someone will hurt you but don’t forget the lessons from that relationship. Don’t forget your values in life. Don’t forget your worth and what you are deserving of. Don’t forget the kind of relationship that you want to have, what your heart and soul desire. You may not find that perfect person but find the one with the imperfections that are worth putting up with, you just need to figure out what is worth settling for, so you don’t settle for less than you deserve.
Don’t settle for ill-treatment
Do not settle for someone’s unkindness towards you. Unkindness is an emotional commitment to selfishness.
Don’t settle for disrespect
Do not tolerate rudeness or lack of courtesy towards you. Your love for someone should not be the reason to tolerate disrespect. “He who wants a rose must respect the thorn.” Persian Proverb
Don’t settle for dishonesty
If someone truly cares about you and values you, he/she will not lie to you.
Don’t settle for discrimination
Do not tolerate any unfavourable treatment towards you based on prejudice.
Don’t settle for mediocrity
If you are not a priority in someone’s life, don’t make them a priority in your life. Learn to show love from afar. “Jealousy is the trophy that mediocrity gives to Excellence”.
Aim high beyond the sky, be relentless towards your endeavours and settle only for what is best for you because you are simply the best.
My biggest lesson that I have learnt so far in my life’s journey is not to settle. It took me 20 years to learn this lesson. When you settle you are limiting the potential in you to create the greatness that you are capable of creating to become your amazing self.
